Bruce Buchanan
Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your inner voice.
— Steve Jobs, Former CEO of Apple

Bruce Buchanan was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia to an English mother, Linda, and American father, Denis, who had settled in Australia after WWII. Bruce Buchanan has always been an entrepreneur at heart. From a young age, he was always looking for ways to start and grow businesses, whether it was washing cars, selling products at markets, or starting handyman businesses while still in high school. His entrepreneurial spirit only continued to flourish when he started his first tech business as an undergraduate.

He graduated with his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of New South Wales in 1994. Five years later, Buchanan obtained an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and the UCLA Anderson School of Management

Working for the Boston Consulting Group from 1998-2004 he was introduced to the airline industry. While there, he gained valuable experience working for a large business and saw firsthand how they operate.

It was during his time at Jetstar that the idea for Rokt was born. Bruce identified a gap in the market for a technology solution that could streamline the online purchase journey for consumers. He saw that the technology available at the time was clunky and fragmented, and knew there was an opportunity to create a more rationalized solution.

In 2012, Bruce co-founded Rokt, a company that makes ecommerce more relevant. Rokt uses real-time data and decision-making to deliver the next best action for each person at each Transaction Moment. Rokt, now a tech unicorn valued at $2.4B dollars, Bruce is hyper focused on growth and preparing for an IPO.

When not working on solving ecommerce problems you can find him being a husband to his wife, Elizabeth and a father to their 5 children, 2 dogs, and a pandemic cat. He spends his free time on the mountains skiing, traveling with his family and  making the world a better place through his philanthropy efforts.
